Feels like a lot of creeping screen real estate being lost to a Twitter feature I never want to use 🤔

Wow Dune was amazing – so atmospheric. Villneuve’s sci-fi trilogy of Arrival, Blade Runner & Dune is so strong. Proper, adult world-building & rich storytelling. Can’t wait to see what else he makes.

Quite a few people have mentioned to me the striking similarity between the new BBC Sounds logo and a W1A sketch about a new BBC logo from … 2014! invidio.us/1EySLuYWTy0

Good thread on Netflix thumbnail optimisation
A Netflix user will browse the app for 90 seconds and leave if they find nothing. Thumbnail artwork is actually NFLX's most effective lever to influence a viewer's choice. A user will look at one for only 1.8 seconds, so NFLX spends huge to optimize them. Here's a breakdown🧵

If you select the text and then hit the share button to send it to iMessage, you can send a link that highlights only the text part! This kind of discovery is why iOS (Apple's OS) is so fun.

iPhone 13 Cinematic Mode: - 320x180 depth-map resolution (compared to 1920x1080 video stream) - stored inside a "dish" mp4 container as a "com.apple.quicktime.video-map" type - virtually no public knowledge currently exists about this format

I’d love to use Apple Maps for driving full time because the UI is so clean & the audio cues are brilliant but Google Maps’ routing & live traffic info is *so* much better – in the UK, at least.

Great tip - this type of multiple selection also works anywhere you can drag objects - Photos, Mail, Home Screen, Notes etc

I was one of the 450 participants that received an ECG patch. 1 day after the study notified me I might have a heart issue, my cardiologist diagnosed me with PACs and PVCs. The Apple Watch detected something 28 years of previous doctors hadn’t. I’m eternally grateful.
